Born in 1963 in La Coruña, Spain. She holds a Cum Laude bachelors degree in Economics and Business from the Autonomous University of Madrid.

She entered the Central Administration as an Economist of the State in 1990 and has worked for UE matters and for the Antitrust Division in the Ministry of Finance.

Her former position was with the Tribunal for the Defence of Competition in the capacity of Head of the Studies Unit.
